commendo is one of the market leaders in the field of recommender systems based on machine learning and the development of algorithms. Since 2008 commendo has endeavoured to spread the gained know-how through consulting of interested companies.

commendo is highly specialized in conducting research in the field of machine learning and the development of mathematical models and algorithms, especially for recommender systems. The last years’ progresses of commendo’s recommendation technology can be seen in the world’s greatest competition concerning recommender systems, the Netflix Prize. Being the Progress Prize Winner of 2008 and the Netflix Grand Prize Winner, commendo left more than 50.000 research and development teams from 186 countries behind.

commendo consists of four partners: Andreas Töscher, Michael Jahrer, Georg Preßler and Michael Schrotter. The company was founded out of the project team BigChaos, which participated very successfully in Netflix Prize competition.
